This was a project for a Graphic Design: Packaging 3 class at Academy of Art University, instructor Tom McNulty. We were to choose or create a company, define a concept, and design a lamp and the packaging to go along with it. The company I chose to study was San Francisco-based Recchiuti Confections (www.recchiuti.com) with its flagship store located at the Ferry Building. Inspired by the store environment, chocolate designs, and elaborately beautiful packaging, I developed a lamp that reflects the brand. The base is a metallic blackened-bronze (plastic molding with bronze acrylic sprayed); The glass was handblown with the concept of 'chocolate swirl and golden caramel,' and the top piece is sculpted copper mesh sprayed with a hint of gold, reflecting shaved chocolate.
This project was displayed at the Academy of Art University 2006 Spring Show.

Recchiuti Lamp by ~bananni The fullview might be a bit large, but I'm sure you'll find this chocolate inspired lamp worth it! (

great desigh that u came up with. The description goes completely well along with the lamp, it fixed perfect. U made such a great job beginning from study and concept to realization and design.
i love that smooth, radiant golden light. its so constrained and just an aura of such a warm color, it really fits the deep colors of the design and the general warm elegance of the piece. this is so fit for quiet, smooth situations, and the warmth of the light just adds to that. really nicely done.
